Motorola’s budget phone Moto E (Gen 2) has become more affordable. Now, it is available only for Rs. 5999. Company has slashed Rs. 1000 and revised the price. Moto E (Gen 2) LTE is now available for Rs. 6999 only.
You can also get additional Rs. 2000 discount in exchange offer. This smartphone is exclusively available on Flipkart.
This price cut was expected because there are better smartphones in this price range. So, sales of Moto E (Gen 2) was not as per expectations. So, Motorola decided to reduce the price to grab more buyers.
Motorola’s biggest rival in India is Xiaomi which also slashed the price of Redmi 2 to Rs. 5999. Redmi 2 offers better features in lesser price. Most of the Indian consumers now prefer specifications over price. So, Motorola must redefine is budget smartphone strategy.
Coolpad Dazen 1, Infocus M2, and Micromax canvas Spark are also other rival smartphones which are getting better sales that Moto E (Gen 2). So, Motorola must think about adding more specifications in next generation of Moto E smartphone.
