Myntra to become app-only from 15 MayIndia’s largest online fashion retailer has finally confirmed that it will go app only on May 15. Last month, it was rumoured that Myntra will go app only on May 1, but dates were not officially confirmed and it couldn’t happen. Now, Myntra has sent a notifications to all mobile app users and added a banner in its slider to confirm the dates.

Myntra has decided to go app-only just because it wants to offer better personalized shopping experience. And it is only possible via mobile apps. Few days back, we also reported why companies want users to come on mobile app. Myntra already generates around 90% traffic and 70% sales from mobile apps.

Flipkart, parent company of Myntra, is also expected to follow this step by the end of the year.

Although, company claims that it has more users and sales from mobile apps. But users are not happy with this step. Users are showing their anger on social media.

Although, mobile apps is profitable for company and more users are accessing Myntra from mobile apps. Still, this step is weird.  There are still many users who prefer desktop for accessing internet from home. It is ok that Myntra can offer personalized experience from mobile apps and it will benefit users. But it should be up to users to device what they want.
