Google to soon unveil solar-powered drones

Google is almost ready to launch its new solar powered drones program ‘Project Titan.’ It will send first sold powered drone to sky later this year.

Sundar Picahi took the stage and revealed this at MWC 2015. He outlined how company is working on 3 big programs to connect 4 billion people to Internet. He confirmed that these solar powered drones will fly in the sky and will work as s remote satellites to offer internet connectivity in that area.

Pichai said that Titan is on the same stage where Look was around two years back. Project Look is similar project in which company sends balloons into the sky to serve as floating cell towers and offer internet connectivity. Project Look is already in testing in Australia and South America.

Google’s third internet related program is called as Project Blank. It was started almost a year back and aims to bring connectivity to rural and urban areas across the world. Project Plank will come to Africa this year.

All these programs are really interesting and will help more people to come online and connect with the world. Facebook and internet.org are also working on a similar kind of concept.
