Google’s Flight search tool is now available in India. This tool lets users search for flights around the globe. This service has already been available in various other markets for few years. It was launched in US back in Sep 2011 and went globally in March 2012.
Google Flight search tool lets you look at price, duration, stops and route map. It also gives you an option to book ticket by visiting the website of airline or other third party booking services.
Users can also save their itineraries for later and track price drop. While searching for the flight, when you click on departure field, it also shows the price trend graph. It will help you in adjusting your dates for booking at lower price.
By default, it shows best flights based on your search criteria. But you can also see other flights by clicking on “Show longer or more expensive flights” link.
You can easily search, select and book flights by using Google Flight search.
It seems a nice search tool, but it will have to compete with other travel booking companies like makemytrip and others in India. Google will have to put more money to promote this feature in India.
Google will also show flight results in Google search when someone will search about flights from one location to other. But, I don’t think this will help. People directly visit travel websites to search and book flights.
