New Malware found in Android Mobiles

One of the reason why Google gained popularity is because of it’s mobile Operating System, Android. Most of the smart mobiles in the market run on Android. Apart from mobiles, tablets and smart watches run on Android. It was opted by many as it is easy to use and availability of many applications. But, there is a problem with the one which is mostly used. Those things top the list of hackers. Yes, recently Android Operating System was attacked by a new malware by name “AndroidSMSSend”. This was found few days back and there are few users who already got attacked with this virus.

New Malware found in Android Mobiles

It steals your confidential information:

We carry and maintain confidential data in our smart mobiles. We will be in trouble if that confidential information is lost. This new malware in Android is going to do the same thing. It steals your information and sends it to all the members of your contact list. It sends this data as messages to contacts. It even sends some links to your contacts which when opened; their mobiles will also be affected by that virus.

It will access all of your saved data:

It leaks the important information like type of your device, IMEI Number, all your pictures in Gallery, ID of the device and more. If you have any saved password, even those are stolen and will be sent to your contact list. Most of us will save the bank details and credit card details in mobile during payment. Even they are accessed and are leaked by the malware “AndroidSMSSend”.

It is said that, this virus installs a separate spyware and runs an algorithm which can track your location without your notice. It gets access to all of your messages and this will harm you a lot.

Steps need to be taken to be safe from this malware:

  1. Do not install any applications from third party, rather than the official play store.
  2. Always have Anti Virus software installed in your Android Mobile.
  3. Perform full scan device twice a week.
  4. Do not click on any links which you got as a message from your contacts list.
  5. Read all steps and permissions, before installing an application.

It is highly recommended to take back up of your device regularly. It does not mean that we will be affected by this, but there is nothing wrong to be safe. Do not access or use any free unknown Wi-Fi networks as they may not be secure all the time.
