McAfee to Become Intel Security in Coming months

At CES 2014, Intel CEO Brian Krzanich announced that McAfee brand name will be replaced by ‘Intel Security’. He confirmed that re-branding has already begun but it will take up to a year before it is complete.

Intel also said that the new name will be used in all new products company will launch. Intel’s security products will not get new logo, only a new brand name. Company has also announced its plans for releasing security products for mobile devices for free. These mobile security products include its data and device protection apps for iPhone, iPad and Android devices.

Intel bought McAfee for $7.68 million in 2010 and preserved the McAfee branding. But past few months created lots of trouble due to this branding.

In past two years, John McAfee has made headlines for an alleged murder in Belize and his subsequent escape from Belize. He also published a video to show how to completely uninstall McAfee from your system. So, Intel wanted to completely drop the name of McAfee.
