David S. Peck is facing trouble because of a bug in Gmail. Google search about Gmail is pointing to a direct link for sending emails directly to [email protected]. Due to this, this email is getting around 500 emails per hour. It was first reported by Search Engine Land. Later we were also able to duplicate this bug.

To reproduce this Gmail bug, search for ‘Gmail’ in Google. Look at top search results and click on site links saying ‘Email’ (with text “10+ GB of storage, less spam, and mobile access. Gmail is email”) at right side.

Clicking on this will open compose window with to field automatically filled with [email protected] email address.

TechCrunch did research and found that David S. Peck is the owner of [email protected]. “I’ve been getting thousands of no-subject, blank emails. 500 of them come every hour, I can’t stop them,” He told Techcrunch.

David also confirmed that this issue started yesterday and he has contacted Hotmail support team for this issue.

This bug was originated on Monday, so it is not related to recent Gmail and other Google service outage.

Google has yet to comment on the issue. We are trying to get Google persons to know more about the issue. Once we have something to add in the story, we will update it.
