In.com has shut down its music streaming service. Earlier, in.com/music redirected to a 404 page. But now, it takes users to the in.com home page. It was first spotted by MediaNama.

in.com shutsdown music streaming service

Lakshmi Narasimhan, CEO, Web18 CEO told MediaNama, “There is a cost to content, and at this point we felt there are other areas we should focus on. We constantly add and remove services from In.com and this is just a part of it.”

in.com was loosing market in online streaming while its rivals including Dhingana, Saavn and Gaana were enjoying traffic.

in.com’s music service offered users sort collection on the basis of album or artists. It offered songs in 10 languages apart from Hindi. Like gaana.com, it also let users listed online radio stations. But at the same time, other rivals were offering better services and paid offering.

In India, many music services have closed their service this year. Google India has stopped offering music search back in July. Flipkart has also stopped its Flyte store.

If we recall the old news stories of web18, we found that company already announced to shutdown in.com.
