Hacker Claimed to Hack Twitter Database, Twitter Denied

Earlier today, a hacker claimed to have access to the entire Twitter database. He also leaked details of 15,000 accounts online via a file sharing website. The hacker belongs to Mauritania, a country in West Africa and is called Mauritania Attacker. TechWorm has reported this new first along with the download link of the leaked data.

When we analyzed the leaked information, we came to know that leaked information includes Twitter name, ID and authentication tokens associated with third-party apps. As there was no password section. So, we can assume that information were leaked from a Third-party app.

Few hours later, a Twitter spokesperson confirmed that no account has been compromised.

If you think that your account may be at risk, you should visit the Twitter’s application page and check all apps. If you find any app suspicious, click on “revoke access” for that app.

Twitter has also sent emails to all verified accounts asking them to use two factor authentication for better security of their account.

In past few months, we have seen the sudden increase in the Twitter accounts’ hacking. Many reporters and celebrities have lost access to their personal Twitter account.
