Facebook has announced a new feature for newsmakers. Now it allows public posts to be embedded on third party websites. This feature is taken from Twitter which allows embedded tweets since 2010.

This time, the feature is launched only with 5 popular news websites but it will be available for other websites soon.

“Today, we’re introducing Embedded Posts, a social plugin that lets you easily add public posts from Facebook to your blog or web site. We are launching Embedded Posts with Bleacher Report, CNN, Huffington Post, Mashable and PEOPLE with broader availability coming soon,” Facebook announced.

Facebook embed post

Before going to embed the post, you need to check whether the post is public or not. You can only embed public posts. If post is public, then click on the dropdown arrow at the top right corner of the page and click on “Embed Post” to get embed code.

Embedded posts display similar to what they look on Facebook with ability to show hashtags, videos, pictures. People can like, comment or share the post directly from your website. It will also give option to like the page from where you have embedded the post.

Now, people should always think before posting any update or sharing photos. After availability of this feature for all websites, you may end up seeing your own Facebook post on a funny website.
