Evernote hacked

Today, company has revealed that hackers have compromised into their servers and got access to usernames, email address and encrypted passwords. Now company is forcing all users to change their passwords before using their account.

This time, company cannot say whether the notes were viewed by a third-party, or payment details were accessed.

“Evernote’s Operations & Security team has discovered and blocked suspicious activity on the Evernote network that appears to have been a coordinated attempt to access secure areas of the Evernote Service,” Evernote posted, “As a precaution to protect your data, we have decided to implement a password reset. Please read below for details and instructions.”

Company didn’t reveal how hackers have broken into their systems. Company wrote that they are still investigating.

Evernote also told users that they use a secure password encryption mechanism. But it is good idea to take extra precaution.

“While our password encryption measures are robust, we are taking additional steps to ensure that your personal data remains secure. This means that, in an abundance of caution, we are requiring all users to reset their Evernote account passwords,” Company added.

In past few weeks, Apple, Facebook, Microsoft and Twitter also confirmed that they were being hacked. Few online news companies also confirmed the same. This is really a serious condition for the cyber world. It seems that no one is secure now. If these big companies cannot protect their systems, how a normal Internet user can protect his system from hackers.
