Nokia Is Most Preferred Handset Brand in India [Reports]

Although, Nokia is losing market share in India and facing loss for past few quarters, it is still most preferred mobile handset brand in India. The data came out in a survey by Nielsen that quizzed 6000 consumers across 8 cities in India in October 2012.

Nokia preferred mobile brand in India: NielsenAccording to reports, Nokia is most trusted mobile handset brand in India followed by Samsung and BlackBerry. Vodafone is the most trusted mobile operator in India followed by Airtel and Idea. WhatsApp is the most popular mobile app and is being used nearly 24 minutes a day. Flipkart is listed as most preferred online retailer.

“While we have always provided uncommon consumer insights for our clients, with this initiative we are taking insights from cities across the country, and giving back to consumers,” Nielsen India President Piyush Mathur said while releasing the rankings.

“These rankings will provide the average urban consumer with a neutral, fact-based consumer view on everyday categories that are relevant to them,” He added.

Study also reports that only one fifth of the users have smartphones while smartphones starts only for Rs. 4,000. Almost 49% people still use featured phones and other 30% prefers multimedia phones.
