According to latest reports, Indian tablet market is growing rapidly. It has been increasing 59% quarter on quarter and 673% year on year. This is the reason we see daily a new tablet launch in India. Most of these tablets fall under the price range of Rs. 10,000.

These reports also revealed that Micromax is ruling Indian tablet market followed by Samsung and Apple. Micromax tops tablet market with 18.4 percent market. Samsung is at second place with 13.3 percent share. Apple is at third spot with 12.3 percent market share in India.

Main reason behind the success of Micromax is its quality products for low cost. If you go for Samsung or Apple, you will have to pay for more than Rs. 20,000. But Micromax tablet start from Rs. 6,000. Micromax Funbook, Funbook pro, Infinity and talk are most popular Tablets in India and all these comes for less than Rs. 10,000.

According to Faisal Kawoosa, Lead Analyst, CMR Telecoms Practice, “During 2Q 2012, 47.4% of tablet sales were from new entrants in the market with a strong focus on addressing application areas in the Education and Entertainment segments. The import of this stance clearly demonstrates that vendors are aiming to position their devices atIndia’s youth population.”

Most selling tablets comes with Wi-Fi connectivity which has 69.6 market share. 7 inch tablets has 79.9 percent market share. Android is most popular among Indian customer which has 87.5 percent market share.
