More than 14 Million Unique Malware detected last year

More than 14 Million Unique Malware detected last year

According to the latest study report published by AegisLabs, the number of malware type in 2011 has grown up rapidly and the numbers are worryingly high.

The report says that more than 14 million unique type of malwares have been detected as trojan which is approx 65% of all threars. Packed malwares comes at second place with 11% share in the chart which is approx 1.5 million. It is followed by malicious elements spread with the aid of adult websites and services.

Report also anayzes malicious URLs. It has 163,769 new domains, 38% of which were download sites and the rest hopping websites. As you can see domains from United States are domanated most of the malicious URLs, ranking #2 is South Korea and #3 is China. The United States tops the list with more than half of the malicious URLs, followed by South Korea, and China. With less than 2.5% of the malicious domain distribution we have the British Virgin Islands, Czech Republic, Russia, Germany, Canada, Brazil and Ukraine.

The report clearly says that the number of internet threats are increasing so we need to take care of all this.
