Snapdragon 768G has the same architecture as in Snapdragon 756G but it has received the clock speed boost by 0.4GHz in performance core. So, Snapdragon 768G is basically an overclocked version of the 765G. The Prime core in Snapdragon 768G is clocked at 2.8GHz as opposed to 2.4GHz in Snapdragon 765G. Other cores are clocked the same.
Both the SoCs are paired wit Adreno 620 GPU. But Adreno 620 GPU in Snapdragon 768G is clocked at 750 MHz as opposed to 625 MHz in Snapdragon 765G. This small change in the clock speed improves GPU performance by 15%.
We have not yet received the benchmark results but a previous leak of Snapdragon Snapdragon 768G claims that the new chip can reach on AnTuTu at around 360,000. This is higher than devices with Snapdragon 765G that could reach just above 300,000.
Both Snapdragon 768G and 765G comes with the same integrated X52 5G modem. This modem supports multi-gigabit 5G gaming with download speeds up to 3.7 Gbps and upload speeds of up to 1.6 Gbps
Another notable improvement is the support for Bluetooth 5.2 in the new chip while the older one came with Bluetooth 5.0 support. Bluetooth 5.2 brings LE. (Low Energy) Audio. It also enables higher quality at lower bitrates. That means a longer battery for your headphones. There’s also support for multi-stream audio.
Snapdragon 768G is a minor upgrade over Snapdragon 765G. The new Soc aims to improve the gaming performance of mid-range devices. So, it will replace Snapdragon 765G
