How to Take Screenshots on Android Devices

Sometimes we need to take a screenshot of the Android screen to show people what’s on our Android device’s screen. App developers and bloggers need this to take lots of screenshots to write tutorials. So, you need to know how to take screenshots on Android.

Capturing screenshots on Android is really simple and straightforward. Although things become confusing due to the presence of several Android OEMs. Different OEMs provide different ways to capture screenshots on Android phones.

In most Android phones, You can press the Volume down key and Power button simultaneously to capture the screenshot of the current screen. This works on Android devices that do not have a physical home key. If your device has a physical home key, try pressing the Home button and the Power key together. Hold down both buttons until your device takes a screenshot. The home button is now a thing of the past. So, the Volume Down+Power key works on most Android phones.

On Samsung devices that come with S Pen, you can use the stylus to take screenshots. Just hold down the S Pen button and touch the pen tip on the device’s screen until it takes the screenshot.

In some Android devices, the screenshot capture option can be found in the power menu. Long press the power menu and wait for the power menu to appear. Select the “Take Screenshot” option to capture a screenshot of the current screen. This option is generally found on Xperia devices.

Xiaomi’s MIUI supports volume down + power button for capturing screenshots. But it also provides another quick way. You just need to simply swipe three fingers down the screen and it will capture the screenshot. You can customize this shortcut if you want.

Google Assistant can also capture screenshots. You just need to use the voice command “Okay, Google, take a screenshot.” It will capture the screenshot.
