How to close all open programs in a single click on Windows

Windows PC

If there are so many applications running on your Windows desktop, you can minimize all applications with the shortcut winkey+M. But you have to close all applications one by one usually takes a little more effort. But there is a nice tool that is really helpful and allows users to close all running programs in a single click. This tool is called ‘CloseAll.’

CloseAll program is available in both 32- and 64-bit versions and is also small in size. This program also does not need any type of installation. If you are using windows 7 or higher, pin this software to the taskbar or create a shortcut or quick launch for the older versions of Windows systems.

Each time, when your PC is just too cluttered with many running applications and windows, click the Close All Windows shortcut. It will list all the running programs on your Windows PC. You can then click a button to close the all apps on your Windows PC. If you do not want to close all, you can deselect particular apps you do not want to close. This software runs with top-level software. It means the program will not try to close system processes.

If an application has some work that you have not saved then it will not close it immediately and ask if you want to save your data.

You can also configure it if you never want to close an application. Suppose you do not want to close firefox and chrome windows while using this tool. Just modify your shortcut properties to provide the relevant executable filenames on the command line.

CloseAll.exe -x=”firefox.exe|chrome.exe”
