Konami, Annapurna Interactive, and Screen Burn Interactive have confirmed that Silent Hill: Townfall will launch on September 24, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and PC. Alongside the release date announcement, the developers also shared new story details, gameplay information, and PlayStation 5-specific features.

Pre-orders for the game are now live.

The latest trailer offers a closer look at the game’s mysterious setting, St. Amelia, and introduces a new character named Zoe. She is a nurse who works at a local family clinic and appears to have a connection to protagonist Simon. Interestingly, while Zoe calls for Simon to return to the island, she also questions why he is there, suggesting there is more to the story than the trailers have revealed so far.

Like previous Silent Hill games, Townfall appears to place a strong focus on storytelling and psychological horror. The developers say puzzles are directly tied to the narrative rather than existing as separate gameplay challenges. Solving them will help players understand the events unfolding around Simon and uncover more about the town’s secrets.

The new trailer also reveals one of the creatures that will stalk players in the Otherworld. While some encounters can be handled through combat, the developers confirm that certain enemies cannot be defeated. In those situations, players will need to hide, avoid detection, and escape.

A key gameplay mechanic is the CRTV device, which appears to play a major role throughout the game. Players can use it to observe their surroundings and assess threats before moving forward. The device is also connected to several gameplay systems and puzzles.

For PlayStation 5 players, Screen Burn Interactive is making extensive use of DualSense features. Adaptive triggers will simulate the feel of weapons, while haptic feedback will communicate environmental cues such as nearby creatures and approaching threats.

The game will also support motion controls. Players can physically rotate the controller to tune weak signals on the CRTV device, adding another layer of immersion during exploration.
