Publisher CI Games and developer Hexworks have delayed the release of Lords of the Fallen II. The upcoming action RPG was previously scheduled to launch in Fall 2026, but will now arrive in the first quarter of 2027.

The game is currently in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.

CI Games founder and CEO Marek Tyminski announced the delay, saying the development team needs additional time to further improve the game before launch.

According to the company, the decision was made after working closely with its Gameplay Feedback Team, a group of experienced Soulslike players who provide ongoing feedback during development. The feedback reportedly helped identify areas where the game could be refined and improved.

The additional development time will allow the team to integrate new improvements, make further adjustments, and polish the overall experience before release.

CI Games also said that moving the launch to Q1 2027 will help the game avoid the highly competitive holiday season. The company believes the new release window will give Lords of the Fallen II more visibility and allow it to receive greater attention from players.

The publisher added that the development team remains committed to delivering a high-quality dark fantasy action RPG and a strong successor to the Lords of the Fallen franchise.

The original Lords of the Fallen reboot launched in 2023 and received several post-launch updates aimed at improving performance, gameplay balance, and overall player experience. Since then, Hexworks has continued to support the title while working on its sequel.

Despite the delay, CI Games said the response to recent reveals has been encouraging and that more updates about Lords of the Fallen II will be shared in the coming months.
