Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Pad 2 Pro and Redmi Pad 2 Pro 5G in India. The new tablets aim to offer a large display, strong performance, and long software support at competitive prices.
Both tablets feature a 12.1-inch 2.5K display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen supports Dolby Vision and DC dimming, and Xiaomi says it comes with triple TÜV Rheinland certifications for eye comfort. These include low blue light, flicker-free viewing, and circadian-friendly standards. The display is designed for long usage, whether it is for work, study, or entertainment.
The Redmi Pad 2 Pro series is powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor. This is a noticeable upgrade over the previous generation. The tablets run Android 15 with HyperOS 2 on top. Xiaomi has confirmed five years of Android OS updates and seven years of security updates, which is rare in this segment and adds long-term value.

The tablets support accessories designed for productivity. The Redmi Smart Pen offers 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity and low latency for writing and drawing. The Redmi Pad 2 Pro Keyboard comes with full-size keys, good key travel, and a built-in loop to store the stylus safely.
Both models come with an 8MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera. These are suitable for basic photography, scanning documents, and video calls. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, USB Type-C, and 5G support on the Pad 2 Pro 5G variant, with optional eSIM support.
Audio is handled by a quad-speaker system with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio support. Xiaomi claims the speakers can deliver up to a 300 percent volume boost, which should help during media playback and video calls.
The tablets pack a large 12000mAh battery, one of the biggest seen in Xiaomi tablets globally. It supports 33W fast charging and also offers wired reverse charging, allowing it to charge other devices when needed.
