Dell has officially brought back the XPS lineup at CES 2026. The company has launched the new Dell XPS 14 (DA14260) and XPS 16 (DA16260), marking the return of the popular XPS branding after last year’s short-lived “Dell Premium” rebrand. With this move, Dell positions XPS once again as its premium everyday laptop series for consumers.
Dell will continue to use other branding, such as Pro, Pro Precision, Pro Rugged, and Pro Essential, for specific use cases. The XPS lineup is aimed at users who want a balance of performance, portability, and premium design.
The new XPS 14 and XPS 16 follow a clean and minimal design language. Both laptops use a CNC-milled aluminium unibody chassis with Gorilla Glass protection. These machines are built for “life in motion,” focusing on thin profiles and low weight. The XPS 14 starts at just 1.36kg, which makes it one of the lightest laptops in its class. The iconic XPS logo is placed on the lid.
Users can choose power-efficient 2K LCD panels with a variable refresh rate from 1Hz to 120Hz. There are also higher-end OLED options. The XPS 14 gets a 2.8K OLED display, while the XPS 16 comes with a 3.2K OLED panel. These OLED screens support 100 percent DCI-P3 colour gamut, Dolby Vision, and VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500, making them suitable for content creation and media consumption.
Both models are powered by Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors. Buyers can choose configurations starting from the Core Ultra 5 325 and going up to the Core Ultra X9 388H, which offers 16 cores. These processors also include Intel AI Boost NPU support, delivering up to 50 TOPS for on-device AI tasks.
Graphics duties are handled by integrated Intel Arc graphics. Dell claims up to 50 percent better graphics performance compared to the previous generation. This should be enough for smooth 1080p gaming, creative workloads, and daily tasks without needing a dedicated GPU. The laptops can be configured with up to 64GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 4TB of PCIe Gen 5 SSD storage.
Dell says it is using its largest and thinnest fans yet, along with wider heat pipes, graphite sheets, and Gore Aerogel insulation. According to the company, this new setup keeps the laptops up to 8 degrees cooler and makes them 36 percent quieter compared to earlier models.
Both the XPS 14 and XPS 16 pack a 70Wh battery. With the 2K LCD display, Dell claims up to 27 hours of streaming video and more than 40 hours of local video playback. If these numbers hold up in real use, it could be among the best battery life figures in the 14-inch and 16-inch premium laptop segment.
Other features include quad speakers with Dolby Atmos support, an 8MP 4K HDR webcam with Windows Hello, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, and three Thunderbolt 4 USB Type-C ports with DisplayPort 2.1 and power delivery. Both laptops also feature Dell’s zero-lattice keyboard and a large glass haptic touchpad.
Dell XPS 14 and XPS 16 price and availability
Dell is showcasing the new XPS laptops at CES 2026 and has announced US pricing for select configurations. The XPS 14 starts at $2,049.99, while the XPS 16 starts at $2,199.99. Dell has confirmed that more configurations, including options priced under $2,000, will arrive in February.
Both laptops will initially be available in a Graphite colour option. A Shimmer colour variant will be introduced later this year. Dell also confirmed that the XPS 14 will get an Ubuntu 24.04 option later in 2026.
The company says the rollout to other regions, including India, will begin soon. Dell has also confirmed that a new XPS 13 will be launched later this year.
