Google Pixel 10 Users Face App Crashes After October Update

The Google Pixel 10 series was expected to deliver Google’s best hardware and software yet. But a recent October update has caused frustration for many users. Instead of fixing a display issue, the update has triggered widespread app crashes.

The update was meant to solve a glitch that occasionally froze the screen. Instead, many users report that apps now crash or freeze within seconds of opening. The problem seems worse on Pixel 10 Pro and 10 Pro XL, though some base model owners are affected too.

Reports on Reddit and other forums show that restarting the phone doesn’t help. Users describe a cycle of crashes that makes even basic tasks difficult. For a device known for its clean software and reliability, this has caused a lot of anger and disappointment.

Some users have found temporary fixes. One workaround is to uninstall the October updates for Google Play Services and the Play Store. This stops the crashes for some people, but it also logs them out of their Google accounts, so recovery options or passkeys should be saved elsewhere first.

Another method is clearing the cache for Google Play Services in the settings. While it doesn’t work for everyone, some users report partial improvement.

So far, Google has not issued a statement or patch. Users who haven’t installed the October update are advised to wait for a stable fix.

This comes at a bad time for Google. The Pixel 10 series is still new, and user trust is key. If the issue is not resolved soon, it could hurt the phone’s reputation for reliability.

Google phones are expensive, but they often do not match the raw performance or specs of Apple or Samsung phones. Many people buy Pixels for their clean software and reliability. Now, if the software itself is causing major issues, it raises the question: why spend so much on a phone that has mid-level hardware but cannot deliver stable software?
