Electronic Arts has announced Battlefield REDSEC, a new free-to-play battle royale game. The game will be released on October 28, and its first gameplay trailer will go live the same day at 8:00 a.m. PT (11:00 a.m. ET).

EA has not shared many details yet, but reports suggest that Battlefield REDSEC will offer a large-scale battle royale experience. The game is expected to arrive on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, just like Battlefield 6, which came out earlier this month.

The Battlefield series has always been known for its huge maps, realistic gunplay, and destruction mechanics. Over the past few years, the franchise has struggled to match the success of older titles. Battlefield REDSEC could be EA’s chance to fix that.

By making the game free-to-play, EA seems to be taking a smart step to reach a wider audience. Many players in today’s gaming world prefer games that are free to start, like Call of Duty: Warzone or Apex Legends. If REDSEC offers good gameplay and stable performance, it could bring a lot of players back to Battlefield.

The trailer should give us our first look at gameplay, modes, and characters. It is likely to include the fast action and teamwork that Battlefield is known for. There is also a chance that REDSEC will connect with Battlefield 6, letting players use the same weapons or share progress between both games.
