Zoho has launched Zoho Scanner, a new AI-powered app built to make document management faster, easier, and more connected. The app is designed for both personal and business use, and it comes with a clean, modern interface that feels intuitive right from the first use.

One of the highlights of Zoho Scanner is that it not only captures a document but also enhances it. Thanks to AI, the app can detect edges automatically, fix lighting issues, remove noise, and give you a clean, professional-looking scan. This feels especially useful when scanning IDs or certificates where clarity is critical.

The app also supports multiple types of documents, including invoices, IDs, certificates, and business cards. For businesses already using Zoho products, there is seamless integration with tools like CRM, WorkDrive, and Expense, making the entire workflow smoother. You can scan a receipt, for example, and have it directly linked to expense management without extra steps.

Another major strength is OCR (Optical Character Recognition) with support for Indian languages like Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi, Punjabi, and Urdu. In my experience, OCR accuracy often makes or breaks a scanning app, and having local language support is a big advantage for Indian users.

Zoho has also added AI auto-tagging and categorisation, so documents get neatly sorted the moment they are scanned. This saves time when looking for old invoices or certificates, especially if you scan a lot of documents regularly. The app even has built-in AI translation for over 22 global languages, which could be a huge plus for businesses and government offices that deal with multilingual documents.

What makes this more interesting is what Zoho is planning next—smart content extraction and actionable insights. If done right, this can push the app beyond being just a scanner and turn it into a complete digital document assistant.

Zoho is also positioning Scanner as a privacy-first solution, which is reassuring given the sensitive nature of the documents people scan. Unlike many free apps that come with hidden trade-offs, this one is subscription-based but fairly affordable. The pricing starts at ₹99 per month or ₹999 per year, with a 50% discount on the annual plan until December 15, 2025.

Zoho Scanner is already available on iOS, Android, and the web, with seamless syncing across devices. Being able to scan on mobile and instantly access it on PC makes the workflow very smooth.
