Kadokawa Corporation has officially announced that a new game based on the popular TV anime series The Rising of the Shield Hero is in development. The game will be released globally for PC, iOS, and Android, bringing the world of Naofumi, Raphtalia, and other beloved characters to fans in an interactive format.
While an official title and gameplay details have not yet been revealed, Kadokawa shared messages from key creators behind the series.
Aneko Yusagi, the original author of the light novel, expressed excitement after seeing the early visuals. “The graphics stunned me—it’s almost like the anime was turned straight into a game. I hope everyone enjoys the story and the battles of their own hero as told through the game,” Yusagi said.
Minami Seira, the character designer, also shared enthusiasm about the project. “My long-awaited new work! I’m looking forward to seeing how it comes to life through expressions and interactions unique to games. I’ll be closely supervising, so I hope everyone can look forward to it!”
The game is expected to let players experience the world of Shield Hero in a way that goes beyond the anime, combining narrative storytelling with battles and interactive elements. Since Seira is involved in the supervision, fans can expect designs that stay true to the original characters and setting.
