The phone sports a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1800 nits peak brightness. It is SGS Eye Protection certified for being comfortable.

The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 5G chipset, built on a 4nm process. It offers 8GB RAM (expandable up to 16GB with virtual RAM), 256GB storage, and comes with vivo’s 50-month smooth usage optimization. It also has dual module cooling system, which includes 40,000 mm2 of cooling area.

The phone runs Funtouch OS 15 based on Android 15 out of the box. It also includes a new AI Suite that adds smart tools like AI Transcript Assist, AI Note Assist, AI Documents, Circle to Search, Screen Translation, AI Superlink, and Focus Mode.

vivo Y400 5G features a 50 megapixels main camera and a 2 megapixels secondary camera. It also has 32 megapixels front camera for selfies.

vivo Y400 5G packs a 6000mAh battery that supports 90W FlashCharge. It can charge from 1% to 50% in just around 20 minutes. Vivo also claims a 4-year battery lifespan thanks to its Smart Charging Engine 2.0. It also includes bypass charging to avoid heating during gaming or video streaming.

Connectivity options are 5G, 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, OTG, and a USB Type-C port. The Y400 5G also features dual stereo speakers with a 400% volume boost.

The Y400 5G comes with IP68 and IP69 ratings for offering water and dust resistance. The phone comes in two colors: Olive Green and Glam White. The Olive Green variant measures 162.29×75.31×7.90mm and weighs 197g. However, the Glam White version has a 7.99mm thickness and 198g weight.

Price and Availability

The vivo Y400 5G will be available in two variants:

  • 8GB + 128GB – ₹21,999
  • 8GB + 256GB – ₹23,999

It will go on sale starting August 7, 2025, on vivo’s e-store, Flipkart, Amazon, and offline stores. Pre-booking is live now.

The phone seems very overpriced. Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 is mostly available in phones priced at around Rs. 10000. Just the 6000 mAh battery and 90W FlashCharge seem notable features.
