POCO India has launched POCO M7 Plus, the company’s latest smartphone in the M series. This phone is the successor to POCO M6 Plus and features a 6.9-inch 144Hz display, Snapdragon 6s Gen 3, dual camera, and 7000mAh battery. Considering the price, it offers some of the features that make it worth noting.
POCO M7 Plus 5G comes with a 6.9-inch FHD+ LCD display with 144Hz adaptive refresh rate and 550 nits peak brightness. The high refresh rate ensures smoothness, and brightness is decent. The display panel also has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. However, I personally don’t like such a big phone. 6.7-inch feels big enough, not sure how easy it will be to manage a 6.9-inch phone.
The phone runs Android 15 with Hyper OS out of the box. It will get 2 Android OS updates and 4 years of security updates.
It packs Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 3, which is a 6nm 5G SoC. It is not a flagship chip, but for day-to-day tasks, light gaming, and 5G connectivity, it should easily hold up. The phone uses LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage, which are fair for this price. It offers 6GB / 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. Storage is also expandable up to 1TB.
There is a 50 megapixels rear camera with a secondary camera and LED flash. For selfies, the phone has 8 megapxiels front camera.
It also has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and an infrared sensor. Connectivity options are 5G, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5.1, GPS + GLONASS, and USB Type-C.
The smartphone packs a 7000mAh battery, which is the largest battery in this segment. The phone promises 144 hours of offline music playback and 24 hours of video streaming. It also supports 33W fast charging and 18W reverse wired charging.
The POCO M7 Plus 5G comes in Chrome Silver, Aqua Blue, and Carbon Black colors. It measures 168.48×80.45×8.4mm and weighs 217g.
