At WWDC, Apple announced tvOS 26, one of the updates for Apple TV in recent years. The new update introduces a fresh design, better ways to discover content, and fun new features for music and FaceTime.
The most noticeable change is the new Liquid Glass design. It gives Apple TV a beautiful, modern look that reflects light in real-time and adds depth to the interface. The new design makes everything feel smoother and more vibrant while still keeping your content in focus.
With tvOS 26, the Apple TV app now shows large, cinematic poster art for shows and movies. It is not just for looks — it makes it easier to discover new content quickly. You also get smart profile switching. When Apple TV wakes up, it can automatically show your profile, so you can jump right back into your watchlist or playlists in Apple Music.
Logging into apps has also become easier. Thanks to a new developer tool, apps can now link logins to your Apple Account. That means when you set up a new Apple TV, you will not have to sign in to every app again.
If you enjoy karaoke, you will love the updated Apple Music Sing feature. Now, you can use your iPhone as a microphone for Apple TV. Just sing into your phone and your voice will play through the TV speakers. Friends can also join in, queue songs, or send reactions with fun on-screen emoji.
Real-time lyrics and visual effects on the big screen make the experience even better. New tools like Lyrics Translation and Pronunciation help you sing along to songs in different languages, even if you do not know the words.
FaceTime on Apple TV also gets a big boost. You will now see Contact Posters when starting a call, making things feel more personal. Live Captions are expanding to more languages, including French, German, Japanese, and more. You will even get call notifications on your TV if your iPhone is nearby.
Apple TV is also getting new Aerial screen savers filmed across India, including Goa and Kerala. You can now choose what kind of screen savers to display and set any AirPlay-enabled speaker as the default speaker for your Apple TV.
tvOS 26 is now available in developer beta. A public beta will be released next month, and the official update will roll out later this year.
