This new game builds on the first Mortal Shell. It will have faster combat and more freedom to explore. The developers say it also has better weapons and more upgrade options.
Just like the first game, Mortal Shell 2 sticks to its core idea, body possession. Players will still be able to take over different shells, each with its own fighting style and unique abilities. This gives you more ways to fight and survive.

The announcement trailer was full of heavy metal music and hard-hitting combat. It showed brutal melee action, along with powerful ranged weapons like shotgun-style guns and machine-gun crossbows. The enemies and boss designs are just as creepy and monstrous as fans would expect. The world looks dark, grim, and full of danger, a perfect fit for the series.
The game is set to launch in 2026. It will be available on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and Windows PC via Steam. The developers, Cold Symmetry, also plan to hold a beta test on Steam soon. Players will be able to sign up on the official Mortal Shell website.
