Google is testing a new AI-powered shopping feature that lets you try on clothes using your own photo. The feature is rolling out in the U.S. through Search Labs starting today.
Instead of showing how clothes look on different models, Google will now let you upload a full-length photo of yourself. Then, using AI, it will generate an image of you wearing the item. This makes online shopping feel more personal and realistic. You can even save or share the generated photos.
Google says this AI model understands how clothes behave on different body types, including how fabrics stretch, fold, and hang. Right now, the “try it on” option works for pants, shirts, dresses, and skirts in Google’s shopping results.
Google is also bringing shopping to its Gemini-powered AI Mode. This new search experience lets you ask for products using plain language. For example, if you say, “I need a travel bag for my trip to Portland in May,” it will instantly show bags that are good for rainy weather and travel. It understands context and can suggest bags with waterproof fabric, extra pockets, and other helpful features.
A new “agentic” checkout feature is also coming soon. If you find a product, select your size, color, and budget, and tap “track price,” Google will notify you when the price drops. Then, you can use the “buy for me” option. Google will visit the seller’s website and complete the checkout for you using Google Pay, securely and automatically.
