Sony Interactive Entertainment and Sucker Punch Productions have announced that Ghost of Yotei will launch on October 2, 2025 for PlayStation 5. Pre-orders will begin on May 2.
The story follows Atsu, a woman seeking revenge. Sixteen years ago, a group of outlaws called the Yotei Six killed her family and left her to die. Now, she has returned to her homeland of Ezo (modern-day Hokkaido) with a single goal — to hunt down the six people responsible.
Each enemy has a unique name: The Snake, The Oni, The Kitsune, The Spider, The Dragon, and Lord Saito. Atsu uses the same katana that once pinned her to a burning tree. But this is not just a tale of revenge. As she journeys across Ezo, Atsu will meet new allies and uncover a deeper purpose.
The new trailer, titled The Onryo’s List, offers a first look at the game’s beautiful world, new weapons, allies, and a gameplay feature that shows Atsu’s past.
Like Ghost of Tsushima, the game will feature an open-world experience. But Ghost of Yotei offers more freedom. Players can choose which member of the Yotei Six to hunt first. You can also chase bounties, meet teachers to learn new skills, and explore the wild and dangerous land of Ezo.
Players can rest anywhere by building a campfire, and several activities from Ghost of Tsushima will return.
