Swiggy is expanding its business-to-business (B2B) operations with Assure, a platform that supplies kitchen essentials to restaurants, hotels, and caterers. With this move, Swiggy is directly competing with Zomato’s Hyperpure, which has already established itself in the restaurant supply market.
Assure is operated by Android Scootsy, a Swiggy subsidiary and its app was launched o Google Play Store on September 17, 2024. The platform focuses on high-quality, locally sourced ingredients while maintaining strict hygiene standards from sourcing to delivery.
Swiggy’s B2B ambitions go beyond Assure. The company acquired Lynk Logistics in July 2023. Lynk Logistics plays a key role in Swiggy’s supply chain and distribution business. Lynk operates as an FMCG retail distributor. It offers faster deliveries and ensures better product availability for businesses.
Swiggy’s supply chain business has been growing steadily. The company recorded ₹1,693 crore in revenue in Q3 FY25, a 23% year-on-year increase from ₹1,377 crore in Q3 FY24. On the other hand, Zomato’s Hyperpure posted ₹1,671 crore in revenue for the same quarter, marking an impressive 95% YoY growth from ₹859 crore in Q3 FY24.
Assure is part of Swiggy’s strategy to diversify beyond food delivery. The company has launched several standalone apps, including Snacc, Pyng, and Instamart. Swiggy’s Instamart recently expanded to 100 cities across India. However, this expansion comes at a cost—Instamart’s net loss for Q3 widened to ₹799 crore, up from ₹574 crore a year earlier.
