Instagram has been known for visual content for years, but it was still restricting users from sharing high-quality photos in DMs. Instagram has finally rolled out the option to send HD photos in DMs.

Sending HD photos in DMs is simple. When you go to share an image, you will notice a small HD icon in the top-right corner of the photo picker. Tap on it before tapping the send icon. Your photo will be sent in much higher quality, without the usual compression. This means more vibrant colors and sharper details.

However, it is important to note that higher quality means bigger file sizes. So, it would take a longer time to send HD photos and these photos will also take up more space on the recipient’s device.

The feature is being rolled out to all users gradually. So, if you don’t see the option, don’t worry. Just make sure your Instagram app is up to date.
