Sony has pushed a new software update that brings Cloud Streaming to PlayStation Portal. This makes PlayStation Portal even more portable as users don’t need to connect it to a PlayStation 5 to play games. The cloud streaming will also support DualSense features such as haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, speakers, and the on-screen touchpad.
PlayStation Portal was initially launched to allow users to stream games from their PS5 over Wi-Fi. So, they needed to be near their PS5 to use PlayStation Portal to play games. Now with cloud streaming, they can stream select PS5 games from the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog.
The company is currently launching the feature in Beta and you also need to get a PlayStation Plus Premium subscription for using the feature. There are currently more than 120 titles to enjoy during beta. Sony also suggested having a minimum 7 Mbps connection for 720p streaming and 13 Mbps connection to stream games in 1080p quality.
The update also introduces refinements in the audio experience. It now offers lower audio levels when the volume is set to minimum. Settings for PlayStation Link can now be accessed in the PlayStation Portal settings menu.
