Acer has unveiled the Swift Blade 14, a new Windows laptop that weighs just 799 grams. The 14-inch machine is also only 12.9mm thick, which makes it one of the lightest laptops in its class.
The laptop was announced at IFA 2026 as affordable Windows laptops become increasingly focused on portability. Apple’s $699 MacBook Neo has helped bring attention to this segment, and Acer’s new machine looks ready to compete, although its price has not been announced yet.
Acer has used a combination of materials to keep the weight below 800 grams. The keyboard deck uses magnesium-aluminum alloy, while carbon fiber is used for the top and bottom covers.
The Swift Blade 14 will be available in Marshmallow Blue and Marshmallow White.
There are three display options. The most impressive is a 2880 x 1800 OLED panel with a 90Hz refresh rate, 400 nits brightness and 100% DCI-P3 coverage. The other choices include a 1920 x 1200 OLED display with a 60Hz refresh rate and a 1920 x 1200 IPS panel with 300 nits brightness.
The laptop will use Intel Core Series 3 processors, ranging from the Core 3 304 to Core 7 350, with integrated Intel graphics. Every configuration comes with 12GB LPDDR5-6400 RAM, while storage can be configured with up to a 1TB SSD.
For connectivity, the Swift Blade 14 has three USB-C ports, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3. Two USB-C ports support full functionality, while the third is limited to data transfer.
Other features include a 1080p webcam, dual 2W speakers and a physical camera privacy switch.
Acer has included a 50Wh battery but has not shared an official battery life estimate yet. The company also hasn’t revealed the laptop’s exact performance targets.
The Swift Blade 14’s biggest selling point is clearly its size and weight. At 799 grams, it is significantly lighter than the 2.7-pound MacBook Neo while offering a larger 14-inch display.
However, Acer’s pricing will determine how competitive it really is. The company has not announced the price or release date yet.
If Acer can keep the Swift Blade 14 close to the affordable laptop segment while offering the lightweight design and OLED display options, it could be an interesting choice for students, travelers and users who want a Windows laptop that is easy to carry.
