Apple launches new MacBook Pro 14″ and 16″ with M4, M4 Pro and M4 Max chips

Today Apple launched a refreshed MacBook Pro powered by new M4, M4 Pro, and M4 Max chips. Apple has also updated the RAM of the base model from 8GB to 16 GB.

The 2024 Apple MacBook Pro series comes in two sizes: 14-inch and 16-inch. These laptops have 14.2-inch (3024×1964 pixels) and 16.2-inch (3456×2234 pixels) Liquid Retina XDR display respectively. These laptops have ProMotion technology for adaptive refresh rates up to 120Hz. There’s also 1,000 nits sustained brightness and 1,600 nits peak brightness for HDR content.

The 14-inch model is offered in M4, M4 Pro, and M4 Max chips. The 16-inch model only comes in M4 Pro and M4 Max chips. You will get to know about processor, memory, and storage variants in the pricing section later in the article.

The laptop has a 12MP Center Stage camera with Desk View support. It offers enhanced video conferencing and 1080p HD video recording. There is also a studio-quality three-mic array with directional beamforming and a high signal-to-noise ratio for offering crystal-clear audio for calls and recordings. There is also a six-speaker sound system featuring force-canceling woofers that deliver high-fidelity sound. It also supports spatial audio and Dolby Atmos for an immersive audio experience.

MacBook Pro also features a backlit Magic Keyboard with Touch ID for secure login and an ambient light sensor. It also has a Force Touch trackpad to ensure precise control and support for pressure-sensitive gestures.

Connectivity options are Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 for offering fast and stable wireless connectivity. The laptop also has three Thunderbolt 4 (M4) or Thunderbolt 5 (M4 Pro, M4 Max) USB Type-C ports

The 14-inch model packs a 72.4-watt-hour lithium-polymer battery and the 16-inch model has a 100-watt-hour lithium-polymer battery. Apple claims 24 hours of Apple TV movie playback and 17 hours of wireless web browsing in these laptops. 14-inch MacBook Pro with M4 is offered with 70W USB-C Power Adapter. The M4 Pro model is shipped with a 96W USB-C Power Adapter. The 16-inch model comes with 140W USB-C Power Adapter for quick recharges.
