Apple has today introduced the new M4 Max chip. The M4 Max chip is specifically designed for professionals who need the most powerful laptop chip available.

The M4 Max chip has a 16-core CPU that includes 12 performance cores and four efficiency cores. It promises to deliver up to 2.2x faster performance than M1 Max and 2.5x faster than the latest AI PC chip. It also has an impressive 40 cores GPU offering up to 1.9x faster performance than the M1 Max and four times faster than the leading AI PC chip. This chip is perfect for people who require heavy computational power, such as 3D artists, video editors, and data scientists running complex models. It also has a 16-core Neural Engine.

The chip also supports up to 128GB of unified memory and offers a staggering 546GB/s of memory bandwidth. It also has an enhanced media engine that includes two video encode engines and two ProRes accelerators. So, this chip is perfect for video professionals working with large media files.

M4 Max chip is coming with Apple’s recently launched MacBook Pro models. I have already talked about these laptops in a separate article.

Yesterday, Apple also introduced the M4 Pro chip with the new Mac mini.
