Apple has launched a new iPad mini with an A17 Pro chip and Apple Intelligence. This is the first upgrade for Apple’s iPad mini since 2021.
Apple iPad mini features an 8.3-inch Liquid Retina display with 500 nits brightness, 326 PPI pixel density, and P3 Color Gamut.
It packs A17 Pro 3nm chip that includes a 6-core processor, 5‑core GPU, and 16‑core Neural Engine. The SoC supports hardware-accelerated ray tracing, support for Dynamic Caching, and hardware-accelerated mesh shading. The tablet is offered in 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB storage options.
The iPad mini runs iPadOS 18 and supports Apple Intelligence. It includes AI writing tool that can refine text by rewriting, proofreading, and summarizing text. This feature will be available across apps including Mail, Notes, Pages, and third-party apps. Siri has become smarter and gets new design. Photos app also received Memories feature and Clean Up tool.
The tablet has 12 megapixels rear camera with True Tone flash. The camera supports Smart HDR 4 for natural-looking photos with increased dynamic range. It also features 12 megapixels Ultra Wide front camera with Retina Flash. The rear camera also uses machine learning to detect and scan documents right in the Camera app.
The new iPad mini has Stereo speakers and dual microphones for calls.
It has Touch ID for biometric authentication. Connectivity options are 5G, Gigabit-class LTE, 802.11ax Wi‑Fi 6 with 2×2 MIMO, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS/GNSS, and USB 3. It packs a 19.3-watt-hour battery that promises up to 10 hours of web browsing on Wi-Fi.
The new iPad mini comes in Blue, Purple, Starlight, and Space Grey colors.
