Ubisoft is set to launch its upcoming game XDefiant on May 21. The game will be available for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. On PC, the game will be available through Ubisoft Connect.

XDefiant is a free-to-play first-person shooter game. The company is launching the game in preseason which will include five factions from various Ubisoft’s games. Players can select their faction and load out before and during matches. Each faction will have its own unique abilities and buffs.

The game will feature five different game modes across 14 maps. Games modes are categorized into two categories: Arena and Linear. In the Arena-style modes, teams will fight to control three fixed zones. Linear modes dive players in attacking or defending roles.

There will also be 24 weapons and 44 attachments. Players can customize their weapons with attachments to fine-tune their performance. The game will reward weapon XP progress for using a weapon and it will help unlock new customization options.

The preseason will last six weeks. After this, the company will kick off Season 1. Ubisoft has already provided a roadmap for the first four seasons. Each new season will include a new faction, three new weapons, three new maps, and a 90-tier battle pass.

XDefiant was initially announced back in 2021 and was set to launch in the summer of 2023. But the launch was delayed. Ubisoft also held a closed beta of the game in April 2023.
