X, formerly known as Twitter, is getting rid of the option to block other users. Elon Musk confirmed that the Block feature is going away and will only be available for DMs.

The Block feature lets users block other X users to hide their tweets from them and avoid seeing them on the timeline. Musk wants people to use the Mute feature to avoid people on X if they want.

Several users also objected to Musk’s decision. X is a toxic platform where most people only post troll and abusive content. So the block feature helps several X users block troll accounts.

Removing the Block feature from the platform won’t be easy for X. Guidelines of Apple’s App Store and Google’s Play Store ask app developers to provide the Block feature if the app has user-generated content and users. If X removes the Block feature, the app could be removed from App Store and Play Store.

After acquiring Twitter, Elon Musk made several changes to the platform. The biggest change was renaming the platform to X. He has also introduced Monetization to the platform, allowed everyone get a Blue Tick by getting premium subscription, and more.
