Microsoft has rolled out spatial audio support for its Teams desktop app on both Windows and macOS. With this new feature, Teams calls will be more pleasant. If you have a compatible audio device, you will get immersive audio during virtual meetings on Teams.

It is worth noting that you also need a supported device to enjoy spatial audio. Microsoft has confirmed that you need USB-wired stereo headphones or speakers, or your device’s built-in stereo speakers for spatial audio. Bluetooth audio devices currently do not support spatial audio.

You will be able to enable spatial audio before or during a Teams call. If you want to enable it before the meeting, Go to Settings and then to the Devices tab. In the Audio Devices section, locate your compatible device under Speaker. Then Turn on the toggle next to Spatial audio.

Microsoft has also confirmed that it will automatically turn off spatial audio if there’s an issue with your network to preserve audio quality. Spatial audio is also not supported in one-on-one calls and large meetings with more than 100 attendees.
