Microsoft Edge is an impressive web browser and Microsoft keeps adding new features to attract new users. Now the company has upgraded Edge VPN with 5GB of free data. Previously, it was offering only 1GB of free data.

Edge VPN is powered by CloudFlare and lets users enable VPN in one click to protect their privacy. It uses Cloudflare’s routing to provide you encrypted internet connection and secure your data from cybercriminals.

It requires users to log in with a Microsoft Account. Account login is necessary to accurately track data usage. Microsoft confirms that it doesn’t share your Microsoft account identity with CloudFlare. It also automatically activates sync to make your browsing data accessible across all signed-in versions of Microsoft Edge.

Edge VPN cannot replace a dedicated VPN app because of its limited features. It doesn’t let you select your preferred location or unblock streaming content on different platforms.
