Snapchat has today confirmed that it surpassed 200 million monthly active users in India. Localized platform experience, local content initiatives, focus on regional creators, and strategic partnerships along with AR prowess played an important role in Snapchat’s growth in India.

The company also confirmed that more than 120 million Indian users watch content across Stories and Spotlight in India. Users in India also try Augmented Reality (AR) Lenses over 50 billion times every month, and over 85 percent of these users use Lenses to visually express themselves.
Now users in India also have access to Snapchat’s My Ai chatbot. It can recommend birthday gift ideas for your BFF, can plan a trip for you, or can suggest a recipe for dinner.

Now that Indian users are growing on the platform, the company is building its team to enhance its operations to better serve Indian Snapchat users.
