Apple unveils Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro for iPad

Apple today unveiled Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro for iPad. Both apps will be available at $4.99 per month or $49 per year on iPad starting May 23. These video and music editing apps also come with enhancements specifically designed for iPads.

Final Cut Pro

Final Cut Pro features a digital jog wheel that lets you navigate the Magnetic Timeline, move clips, and make frame-accurate edits. It also offers a Live drawing feature that lets users draw and write using Apple Pencil directly on any video content. Video editors can also view and edit HDR videos by taking advantage of the Liquid Retina XDR display on the 12.9-inch iPad Pro. They can also apply color grades with accuracy using Reference Mode.

The software also features Pro camera mode for recording video in landscape or portrait modes. While recording a video, you can also monitor audio, and recording time, and manually control video settings like exposure, white balance, and focus. It also has Multicam video editing that automatically synchronizes clips and lets you switch angles easily.

Final Cut Pro for iPad also comes with a library of graphics, effects, and audio. It also has soundtracks that automatically adjust to the duration of a video. It also uses machine learning for speeding up time-consuming editing tasks such as Scene Removal Mask, Auto Cropm Voice Isolation, and more.

Logic Pro

Logic Pro for iPad supports multi-touch gestures for playing software instruments and navigating across protects. You can Apple Pencil‌ for precision edits and detailed drawn track automation use. It also lets you capture audio directly in the app using iPad‌’s built-in microphones. The software for iPad supports key commands sing an external keyboard to speed up the process.

It has an all-new sound browser with dynamic filtering for exploring instrument patches, audio patches, plug‑in presets, samples, and loops. The app brings more than 100 instruments and effect plug-ins.

There is a new time and pitch-morphing plug-in called Beat Breaker. The Beat Breaker lets creators swipe and pinch to reshape and shuffle sounds. The Drum Machine Designer lets you create custom drum kits by applying samples and unique plug‑ins to any drum pad.

The app also features a full-featured mixer with channel strips, volume faders, pan controls, plug‑ins, sends, and precise automation. It also supports Multi-Touch to mix intuitively and move multiple faders at once.

Final Cut Pro requires an iPad with an M1 chip or newer. For Logic Pro, the iPad requires A12 Bionic or newer. These apps will be listed on App stores starting May 23.
