Valve’s game distribution platform Steam had a great weekend. According to SteamDB, Steam saw 10 million concurrent in-game players for the first time on January 8, 2023. It also saw more than 32 million concurrent online users.

Here, it is worth mentioning that SteamDB is not affiliated with Steam or Valve.

I think most people can easily guess the two most popular games that people were playing on Steam. These were Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and DOTA 2. PUBG: Battlegrounds, Goose Goose Duck, and Apex Legends are three other popular games gamers played on Steam.

The gaming industry saw a boost during the global Covid-19 pandemic. Now that gamers can earn good money by streaming games and esports is gaining popularity, a lot of people are now thinking to select gaming as a full-time career. This is also a reason why gaming is getting a boost.
