Last year, Netflix ventured into mobile gaming. The company already offers 35 mobile games to Netflix subscribers at no additional cost. In a letter to investors today, Netflix confirmed that it already has 55 games in development. Some of these games are based on Netflix franchises.

If you check the current games on Netflix, you will surely be impressed. The copy has some good titles including Heads Up!, Into the Breach, and more. All these games are available free of charge with no ads or in-app purchases.

Games are an important part of Netflix’s strategy. The company wants people to give another reason to open the app. Games will have better app usage time. Netflix also believes that gaming is a “multi-year journey.” It hints the long-term planning.

As per the data available, less than 1 percent of subscribers play Netflix’s games on a daily basis. The numbers are disappointing, sill Netflix’s commitment to gaming is commendable.

Netflix’s third-quarter financial results were also impressive and it exceeded its expected revenue for the term. The company also managed to add over a million new subscribers. Now, Netflix has a total of 223.09 million subscribers.
