The Epic Games Store has added two new games to its weekly free games program. Mindcop and Shogun Showdown are now available to claim for free on PC.
Players can claim both games until September 24. Once claimed, they are permanently added to the Epic Games Store library.
Mindcop is a nonlinear detective game focused on a murder investigation. Players take the role of a police officer who can enter people’s minds to uncover secrets and find the killer. The investigation has to be completed within five days, with every action taking up some of the limited time.
The game also includes a puzzle-based system for accessing people’s minds. Players have to decide which leads to follow as they investigate the residents and try to identify the suspect. The choices made during the investigation can lead to two different endings.
Shogun Showdown takes a different approach, combining turn-based strategy with roguelike and deck-building elements. Battles take place on a grid, where players must carefully position their characters and time their attacks based on enemy movements.
The game features different characters, attacks and skills that can be unlocked as players progress. Each run also builds towards further progression, making combat and strategic planning an important part of the experience.
The two games replace last week’s free titles, Luftrausers and Astral Ascent. The Epic Games Store is expected to refresh its free games lineup again on September 24.
