In a month after launching its first smartphone, Nothing has increased the price of Nothing Phone (1) in India by Rs. 1000. The device was launched starting at Rs. 32999, but now starts at Rs. 33999. The company blames fluctuating currency exchange rates and the rise in the cost of parts for the price hike.

“Plenty has changed since we started building Phone (1), including economic factors such as fluctuating currency exchange rates and rising component costs. In response to the current climate, we’ve had to make a change to our prices,” the company said in a statement.
