Google has launched a new initiative Startup School India with an aim to help 10,000 startups from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. This is a 9-week virtual program from Google leaders and collaborators from across the startup ecosystem.
The program covers several topics including fintech, language, social media and networking, job search, business-to-business and business-to-consumer e-commerce. Some other topics are user acquisition, product strategy, and more. Different industry leaders will take sessions under this program. You can check the full list of speakers here.
“Aimed at early-stage founders with a minimum viable product, the program provides the flexibility of a virtual curriculum and allows attendees to pick and choose the modules they’d like to tune in for,” a blog post by Google said.
This initiative was much needed. If you look at the data, around 90% of Indian startups fail during the first five years of operation due to uncontrolled financial burn, lack of leadership, inaccurate demand projections, or more reasons. This initiative aims to acknowledge the issues and fill the gap to help Indian startups.
