Asus launches a gaming monitor with a 500Hz refresh rate

At Nvidia’s Computex 2022 keynote, Asus today announced the world’s first gaming monitor with a 500Hz refresh rate. The monitor’s name is ROG Swift 500Hz.

ROG Swift 500Hz comes with a 24.1-inch FHD display with an Esports-TN panel to offer responsiveness. Esports-TN panel promises 60% faster response than regular TN LCD monitors.

The monitor also includes NVIDIA G-SYNC. It also has Esports Vibrance mode for esports. The company also claims that the monitor has been tuned for competitive games such as CS: GO, Valorant, Overwatch, and Rainbow Six Siege. NVIDIA also talked about Nvidia’s Reflex Analyzer software that has been integrated directly into games like Apex Legends and Fortnite to help mitigate latency.

Nvidia claims that this is the “lowest latency, highest refresh rate G-sync esports display ever created”.

Here’s a video to check how smooth the 500Hz monitor will be.

Most gamers still use 144Hz gaming monitors. Although 240Hz monitors and 360Hz monitors exist, very few gamers are actually using them. So, a 500Hz gaming monitor feels overkill. You will also need a good gaming PC to use the 500Hz monitor. Reports suggest that the company will launch the next-gen RTX 4090 card to make a perfect companion to this 500Hz panel.
